We are actually here to talk about two different series that are on fairly new up on Netflix, A Series of Unfortunate Events and Voltron: Legendary Defender. Unfortunate Events (on Friday the 13th) came out one week ago today and Voltron, of course, was released today. Chances are that if you are reading this, you are probably aware of at least one of these shows if not both. I am sitting here re-watching Love Live! since season one of Love Live! Sunshine!! concluded. These shows are cute and simple and incredibly formulaic. Something about them just draws me in. The huge cast of characters means that there is always someone the viewer can identify with.
Hey all. There’s been a lot of controversy about Glitter Force. The ninth iteration of the Pretty Cure Franchise in Japan and one with an interesting and devoted fan base, it is no wonder that this series has garnered a tremendous amount of attention. This iteration however has gained more than is standard as Pretty Cure has been renamed Glitter Force. A great many Otaku and establish anime fans (this group included) have been very disparaging regarding the translation and localization of this series.
Otakon just ended and we had a blast, despite the technical glitches. A great end to our con season for the year.
Despite the euphoria, this post is actually to talk about a series we just finished (K as you might guess from the title of the post) .
This series has been out for a while as have some of the various adaptations and the movie. ‘K’ is one of those interesting anime because there hasn’t been a lot of buzz about it over here as much as there was in Japan. This is definitely part of why we haven’t watched it yet, it was easy for it to slip out of mind. Now there’s a new season coming out this fall , which has been licensed by Viz, and it seemed like the perfect time to watch it.
