As you may know, those of us here at Doomtastic are BIG fans of The Addams Family. Maybe not quite as obsessed as Graham is with Gundam, but close. We love the Addams Family, all the way back to Charles Addams’ original cartoons in the New Yorker. While there are many things to both admire and disdain about The Addams Family, including its unabashed campiness, it is hard to deny that The Addams Family was ahead of its time in many ways. Given both the upcoming festive season and the Fact that Netflix is set to release a new animated The Addams Family movie it seems only just to celebrate some of the features that made The Addams Family so iconic. We know it has been a while since we posted anything, and honestly, this isn’t the geekiest or nerdiest of posts. When we were at Prattconin June we had a display of hair falls for people to try on along with wigs and other cosplay accouterments. There’s been a lot of chatter in the environments surrounding Doomtastic about safe spaces lately. While this is of course always an issue in any situation or social network, some recent happenings in our area and some of the events we follow have led to more discussion. Some people have noticed in all this hullabaloo that we really seem to go out of our way to create them and why we do that. And some people have asked for some information on creating safe spaces, especially some people who know us IRL.
